The $SQK tokenLink to this section

TL;DRLink to this section

  • $SQK is an ERC-20 token. Apart from a one-time premint, it's issued only for completed Squeek blocks.
  • At most 2.1 billion $SQK can ever be minted, premint included. Burning reduces circulating supply but never reopens the cap.
  • Mining funds Staking with newly issued $SQK; once you claim it, it's in your wallet.

What's $SQK?Link to this section

$SQK is the token the hamster's work produces. Apart from a one-time premint, it's created only as the hamster completes Squeek blocks, up to a fixed lifetime cap of 2.1 billion.

All new $SQK goes to Staking, which shares it among everyone staking Squeeks and $SQK.

Once claimed, $SQK is an ERC-20 balance: you can hold, transfer, stake or burn it, or use it in other applications.

The token runs on the Sepolia testnet; its address, the premint's size and split, and the rest of the deployment are in Deployments.

Supply over timeLink to this section

The token keeps three totals: the premint, fixed forever; lifetime minted, the premint plus all issuance, which can never pass the cap; and burned. Circulating supply is lifetime minted less burned.

Burns come from holders and from Staking, which burns the whole exit fee when someone unstakes $SQK. Because the cap counts lifetime minting, a burn lowers circulating supply without letting more $SQK be issued.

Supply limits and rounding covers the cap and where $SQK is held. Developers can use the SqueekToken reference for exact units, transfers, approvals, burns and minting authority.
