Ownership and transfersLink to this section
TL;DRLink to this section
- Only the current NFT owner can claim its rewards or merge it; operator approval isn't enough.
- Transferring a Miner also transfers its unclaimed rewards, even those earned before the transfer.
- Its power, level, activation schedule, and cooldown stay unchanged. SQK you've already claimed stays in your wallet.
What goes to the new owner?Link to this section
When you transfer a Miner, its new owner receives the NFT together with all its unclaimed rewards. The system doesn't divide those rewards between previous and current owners. If you want to keep rewards that are ready to claim, claim them before transferring the NFT.
The Miner's level, image, active power, any scheduled power change, and merge cooldown also stay with it. Receiving an already active Miner doesn't restart activation, and transferring a Miner doesn't reset or shorten a cooldown. Pending power still needs its scheduled activation to be processed.
SQK already paid to you is separate from the NFT. It stays in your wallet when you transfer the Miner, just as a previous owner's claimed SQK doesn't come with a Miner you acquire.
What does an approval allow?Link to this section
| Action | Who can do it |
|---|---|
| Transfer the NFT | The owner or an approved NFT operator |
| Claim its rewards | The current owner of every selected NFT |
| Merge two Miners | The current owner of both eligible NFTs |
| Burn a merge donor | Only the mining contract, as part of the merge |
An approved marketplace can't directly claim your rewards or merge your Miners. It can transfer an NFT as permitted by the approval, though, and that transfer gives the recipient control over the unclaimed rewards. Approval therefore still has a direct consequence for those rewards.
If a smart contract owns the NFT, that contract must make a claim or merge call. A person controlling the contract isn't separately recognized as the NFT owner. Developers can find the exact caller requirements in Owner transaction integration.
Before you transfer or acquire a MinerLink to this section
Check current ownership, unclaimed rewards, and any pending activation or cooldown rather than assuming an old portfolio or marketplace display is current. A reward quote can change before a transfer completes if the owner claims, or if more rewards are funded. Receiving the NFT gives you its state at the transfer, not a guaranteed amount from an earlier display.
For example, if you transfer a Miner without claiming first, the recipient can claim rewards earned while you held it. You keep any SQK already paid to your wallet, but you can't return later to claim what you left with the NFT.
Transfers are Ethereum transactions and can cost network fees. Neither the collection's mint pause nor a pause in work settlement automatically blocks ordinary NFT transfers. Already-funded claims also remain possible, provided ownership checks and SQK transfers work.
