# Squeeks

> Squeeks are NFTs that own a share of the Squeekchain network and earn the SQK created by the hamster's work.

Web version: https://docs.squeekchain.com/squeeks/

## TL;DR

- Squeeks are the NFTs that share SQK rewards by maintaining Squeekchain's proof-of-stake system.
- A Squeek's level sets its maximum power. Its active power sets its share of each block's SQK.
- You can mint or buy Squeeks, transfer them, merge two into one, and claim their rewards.

!!! warning "In active development"

Squeek staking is in active development. More details on the system and its mechanics will be shared shortly.

## What's a Squeek?

Squeeks are NFTs that own a share of the Squeekchain network. They receive the SQK created by the hamster's work on the WHEELY9000.

The amount of SQK they earn is based on their active power, determined by their level and how much SQK they've staked.

| Mint | Creates a Level 1 Squeek that starts earning next round |
| Merge | Turns two same-level Squeeks into one a level higher |
| Claim | Sends a Squeek's unclaimed SQK to your wallet |
| Transfer | Moves the Squeek and its unclaimed SQK to the new owner |
